Engagement Photo Fun
Posted: August 2, 2011 Filed under: Wedding News 1 Comment »Very rarely in life, unless you are an actor or musician, do you get the opportunity to get to run around a city with a professional photographer. Yeah, we all have those silly prom photos and senior pictures that become an obsessive chapter in our high school lives. Outside of that, most of us get to wrangle the services of a photographer for weddings and the occasional family photograph session.
Last week, we both got to jaunt around North Beach with our wedding photographer, Allyson Wiley. Interesting story: when I first met Melinda, Allyson was a roomie, living together in their Pine Street Pacific Heights apartment. The hard work to make a good impression on Melinda also meant I had to impress all of her roommates, including Allyson. There are a few people out there I have the fortune to have known since the beginning (the Pine Street days) and Allyson is one of them.
Our time with Allyson last week was an incredible. Her photography aesthetic is heavily influenced in a documentary style that is refreshing and visually inspiring. Doorways and brightly-painted walls all become her photographic canvas. It was truly an exciting moment to open up her email and see all of her work, and all the beautiful pictures with Melinda for the first time. And I get to realize a lifelong dream of submitting an awesome picture for the Elkhorn Independent Newspaper’s ‘engagement’ section.
Needless to say, we are very excited and lucky to have Allyson be a part of our special little wedding on October 1.

The night quickly evolved into an impromptu hand-written address marathon as we carefully transcribed all of your addresses onto the backs of our Orange County themed postcards.
You can see the finished product below. If you are visiting here for the first time because you found the website on the back — welcome! We are both very excited to continue planning this wedding and look forward to the first weekend in October when all of you can join us together with our family and friends.
Pay special attention the glass from our favorite winery, Larson Family, whose unique jugs of red wine will be making a very special appearance at the wedding reception.
Welcome to RoadenPipes!

We are so excited to be sharing our wedding day with all of you on October 1, 2011.
Please use this website for information on how to get to orange county, where to stay, weekend festivities and general information. We suggest you book your hotel room as early as possible, especially if you will be staying at the Fairmont Newport Beach as that is where the wedding party will be staying.
We hope to see you on October 1st!
Love,
Melinda & Taylor
